The Orangery at Bakkehuset

The Orangery at Bakkehuset appears as a luminous oasis in the heart of the garden – a modern interpretation of the classic greenhouse, where history and the present merge. The light glass structure and the delicate green-painted steel open the space towards its surroundings, allowing daylight to flow freely in from all sides. Here, the boundary between inside and outside is dissolved, and the changing seasons become part of the experience.

With its high, domed roof structure and elegant details, the orangery draws references to historic garden settings, where plants, people and conversations found a shared space. At the same time, the place is alive and sensory today – a gathering point for calm, presence and community.

Outside, the terrace extends with tables, chairs and pots, inviting people to linger under the open sky. Inside, the clear light and simple interior create an atmosphere of lightness and openness. The orangery is not merely a building, but an experience – a place where one can step into a quiet space and feel the connection between nature, architecture and people.
